Come build birdhouses with us!

Come build your very own chickadee birdhouse to take home. We will talk about the Chickadee- it’s significance in our ecosystem, it’s preferred habitat, and when and where it likes to nest. We will pre-cut the pieces to make the birdhouses. You just need to put it together! We will have some exterior paint if you want to add some flair to your birdhouse.

Chickadees are active, acrobatic, and social birds that are commonly found in backyards and mixed-species flocks around the Asheville area. They are commonly seen at bird feeders, and they also eat seeds, insects and berries. They prefer to nest in tree cavities or in cute handmade birdhouses (made by you!) from spring through summer.
